Dr. Praful. B. Pawar, the first DMS of Apollo Hospitals Dhaka passed away on 21st Dec in India suffering from Pneumonia and related complications. He was serving as the CEO of JASLOK Hospital Mumbai. Dr. Pawar joined Apollo Group in Dec 2003 and after a brief stay at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad as Consultant International Patient Care moved to Dhaka, Bangladesh as Director of Medical Services (DMS) of the newly commissioned 400 bedded Apollo Hospitals, Dhaka. In 2006 he was made the Chief Executive Officer. Combining the job of both CEO and DMS he led Apollo Hospitals, Dhaka in getting the prestigious Joint Commission International (JCI) Accreditation in 2007. In Dec 2007 Dr Praful Pawar moved back to India and became the CEO of Apollo Hospitals Ahmedabad Gujarat. He joined Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre as its Chief Executive Officer on 1st October 2011.
He did an excellent job during his tenure of office at AHD and this being at the initial stages of our Hospital served as a strong foundation for us. We pray for the departed soul of Dr. Pawar. May ALMIGHTY bless the family members to bear up this irreparable loss.
