 The first Liver Resection Surgery (Left Lobectomy) was performed at Apollo Hospitals Dhaka on November 23, 2009 on a 34-year old female patient. The surgery was totally successful; the patient has fully recovered and is doing well now.
The credit goes to the total team of performing surgeon Dr. G.P.N Varma, Senior Consultant – General & Laparoscopic Surgery; Prof. K.M. Iqbal, Coordinator & Senior Consultant – Anaesthesiology; Dr. A.K. Gupta, Consultant – Critical Care; and the staff from Surgical Department, OT and ICU. More of this kind of surgery will be performed by Apollo Surgical Centre in the future. |
