Apollo Hospitals Dhaka

Apollo Hospitals Dhaka, in partnership with Lifebuoy, launches Hand Wash Awareness Week from March 20, 2010 to March 25, 2010. The week-long campaign called “Spread the word not the germs” aimed to build awareness of the need and benefits of hand washing. The goal of the week was to decrease the spread of infectious diseases by empowering individuals, thus protecting the communities.

Chief Executive Officer of Apollo Hospitals Dhaka Mr. Michael S. Potter, Director – Medical Services Dr. Mohd. Naseem Siddiq, and other senior management officials were present at the opening of the program. Ms. Sue Potter, wife of Mr. Michael Potter, inaugurated the program.

The campaign included programs like colouring & painting competition for children, quiz competition for AHD staff, lectures and video clips on the importance of hand washing in daily life and caring of patients, as well as spot training, observation and reminders for the staff to comply with the standard protocol of hand wash. Winners of the competitions were presented prizes from Apollo Hospitals Dhaka.
